Ian Gregory Trutt
is a biracial Puerto Rican screenwriter, director, and professionally produced playwright originally from Atlanta, GA. He specializes in dark comedies and social commentary, told with unique tone and sharp dialogue.
Trutt holds an MFA in screenwriting from UGA under the mentorship of Christine Swanson (Chicago PD, All About Us) and Holly Sorensen (Step Up: High Water, Make It Or Break It).
Before that, Trutt focused primarily on playwriting, having directed his own adaptation of Neil Gaiman's novel Stardust while at Emory University. He later assisted directed on the Berkshire Theater Festival's "The Mystery of Irma Vep" and directed a revue at the Colonial Theater in Pittsfield, MA. In 2015, he was a Young Playwrights Festival resident at Horizon Theatre and graduated from with honors in playwriting.
