Ian Gregory Trutt

Picture
is a queer Latino screenwriter, director, and professionally produced playwright originally from Atlanta, GA.  He specializes in dark comedies and social commentary brought to life with sharp dialogue.

Trutt holds an MFA in screenwriting from UGA under the mentorship of Christine Swanson (Chicago PD, All About Us) and Holly Sorensen (Step Up, Make It Or Break It). His first cinematic project, Cam Girl, is slated to premiere in 2022.

For theatre, Trutt directed his own adaptation of Neil Gaiman's novel Stardust while at Emory University, where he would graduate with honors. He later assistant directed on the Berkshire Theater Festival's "The Mystery of Irma Vep" and directed a revue at the Colonial Theater. In 2015, he was a Young Playwrights Festival resident at the Horizon Theatre.

As Managing Director of Natural Eclipse Productions, his premieres included:
  • A Damn Fine Hotel For Your Uppity White Ass
  • What Comes to Light (a radio drama featured in 2019's Atlanta Fringe Festival)
  • A Monday Like Any Other in the Bermuda Triangle (co-directed)
